Act One:
Relentless.
The amount of time spent.
I was foolish.
You were hurtful.
Quick moments of passion.
Longer minutes of denial.
Relentless.
Me vs. You
You vs. Me
It is a dedication.
Without an ovation.
Act Two:
It is true.
Poets are miserable.
Poets feel happiness.
Poets are trapped.
Poets are introspective.
Poets are metaphors. Analogies. Cliches.
Poets write below lines. In margins. In between napkins.
Poets hesitate.
Poets detonate.
Poets seek survival.
Poets seek love. Try to disassociate yourself from pain.
It is true.
Poets encompass things.
But poets do not seek approval.
Poets seek separation from the fear of never being able to pick up a pen and convey the right words.
Poets scrape for ways out.
We rarely find it.
