Join us as we explore the inspiring journey of a woman who is turning her dreams into reality, one word at a time.

  1. What inspired you to start working on “Universe of Passion,” and how did your initial contest entry influence the project?

I was scrolling through Facebook one day and saw the contest posted. I had an idea for a science fiction story and started working on it. As I worked on it, I fell in love with the story. Even though I didn’t win I still thought it was a great story.
  2. Can you share a bit about your personal journey and how it has shaped your writing?

I started writing during the pandemic. I had an essential job, so I reported for work every day. Everything was so toxic, and I felt like I needed an escape from reality. One day at work I saw a blank piece of paper and took out my pen and started writing.
  3. What were some of the biggest challenges you faced while working on “Universe of Passion,” and how did you overcome them?

My biggest challenge is finding the time to write. I work 16 hour shifts most days and I’m not allowed electronic devices.
  4. How did not winning the contest impact your approach to writing and your motivation?

It made me want to learn more about the writing process to be better.
  5. What role has mental health played in your creative process, and how do you manage it while pursuing your writing?

I was suffering with depression before I started writing. The ability to turn my thoughts into a story has me exited to get out of bed in the morning.
  6. Can you describe any specific strategies or routines you use to stay motivated and productive as a writer?

I carry a notebook with me everywhere and I write down ideas. When I’m home I sit on the couch with my laptop and start writing.
  7. How have you dealt with challenges related to getting reviews for your book, and what have you learned from that experience?

I haven’t gotten many reviews, but I know I’m new at this and it takes time.
  8. How do you handle criticism or lack of feedback, and what advice would you give to other writers facing similar challenges?

A few friends have given me constructive feedback and I used it to make my work better. My advice take what people have to say and use it to be a better writer.
  9. What has been the most rewarding aspect of working on “Universe of Passion” so far?

The most rewarding aspect was seeing my work take on a life of its own. The plots and the characters seem to come to life for me.
  10. How do you balance writing with other aspects of your life, and what are some of the biggest hurdles you’ve encountered?

Right now writing is a hobby and I try not to let it keep me from spending time with friends and family.
  11. How do you maintain your mental well-being while dealing with the pressures and uncertainties of a writing career?

I don’t have all my eggs in the writing basket. I have a career that takes care of all my home needs, so I don’t stress about my writing career. I write for the pleasure of it.
  12. What advice would you offer to other women who are trying to turn their creative projects into successful endeavors?

Write what you love and you will always be successful.
  13. Can you share a personal story or experience that significantly influenced your writing and creative outlook?

I have always had a large imagination. I started playing Dungeons and Dragons when I was thirteen years old, and it inspired me to create characters and write adventures. I also love watching science fiction movies and t.v. Shows like Star Wars, Babalon 5, The Mandalorian, The Matrix, and The Orvill.

  14. How do you approach the process of revising and improving your work, especially after initial setbacks?

I reread my work, and I put myself in the mindset of my characters. It gives me new perspectives and ideas.
  15. What are your future goals for your writing career, and how do you plan to achieve them?

My goal is to keep writing and publishing my work. The plan is to have a few books out and then go to book fairs and conventions to advertise and sell my work.
