I'm Aleksandra Valkova, a Bulgarian-born poet and writer currently based in London.
My journey into the world of literature began in my hometown of Varna, where I cultivated a deep appreciation for storytelling and language. At the age of 19, fueled by a passion for English and creative expression, I embarked on a transformative chapter of my life, relocating to London to pursue a BA degree in English and Creative Writing. Since then, London has become my creative haven and the backdrop for my explorations in writing.
My work is deeply rooted in themes of womanhood, identity, and the intricate bonds between mothers and daughters. Through poetry and prose, I delve into the complexities of these relationships, seeking to unravel the threads that connect us across generations. Currently, I am immersed in crafting a collection of short stories that delve into the nuanced dynamics between mothers and daughters, exploring the intricacies of love, conflict, and understanding.
