That got a little boring to read didn’t it? That is, if you read it at all and didn’t just scroll down to see the end. The point here being that overusing the word perfect or trying to be perfect at all time gets very old, very quickly.
To be extremely blunt, life can be very close to perfect (depending on how you define perfection) in the end; and there are absolutely perfect moments and memories that make up that life. However, life is never going to go completely as planned. It is never going to be perfect, no matter how hard we try. There cannot be ups without downs. The good news is, there are other words that we can replace “perfect” with!

Playful childhood
Productive grades
Patient friend group
Proactive job
Precious wedding
Persevering marriage

A simple change of vocabulary could make a much bigger difference in the way we look at the things around us, and what we expect to get out of life.
In my opinion it is better to spend a life being imperfect but doing my best, then trying to be perfect to the point of accidentally missing my life; all because I thought I was capable of being perfect.
