Small

He’ll grab me by my thighs

But is it wise

to let the demise of my innocence

be caused by the hands of a man

whose sole plan is to never kiss and tell?

Well, if that is the case

then it is a good thing I can’t place his face

in the space where I keep my thoughts and memories.

We don’t stand a chance beyond sunrise in my eyes

because we only ever met after the sun has set

during hours synonymous with chirping crickets and hooting owls

and a beaming moon with a backdrop of stars and galaxies so big

that my problems seem small.

After all, it’s just lust

I write. I cook. Sometimes in that order. Sometimes at the same time.
