Shining Soul

Why hello! I’m writing this on little Friday aka Thursday. Does anyone else call it that to trick yourselves into thinking you’re closer to the weekend than you actually are or is that just me?

Despite feeling slightly stressed about the upcoming holiday season and me being extremely unprepared for it, I have a very exciting weekend ahead. If you’ve read my other posts I’m sure you can assume what I’m most looking forward to. DRUMROLL PLEASE……

Yep—you guessed it, SOULCYCLE!

I’m headed to Chicago to see an old friend, tap it back Saturday morning in class, and attend the Renegade Craft Fair.  Fingers crossed I knock out a bunch of Christmas shopping for friends and family while there (and maybe a few presents for myself, too). We are also fully prepared to eat and drink our way through the city, DUH.

Last but not least, I’m headed to the annual German Village Lights. For those of who you aren’t aware of this event: it’s one of my favorite days of the year! I live in a registered historic neighborhood in Columbus, Ohio that has deeply rooted German history. The first Sunday evening in December they line the brick streets with luminaries, have carolers singing around the neighborhood, and there is usually a live Nativity scene. No, baby Jesus isn’t present and yes, I have had people ask me that (le sigh). It always kicks off the start of the holiday season for me and leaves me feeling festive AF as well as excited for the month to come.

Is anyone else going to the Village Lights or have something super exciting happening this weekend? Also if anyone has Chicago food & drink recs please comment below—I’d love to hear your suggestions!

xx,

KFT
